The founders of SwedBNB quickly realised that there was a big gap in the short-term rental and property management market in Sweden. Dominic had been previously supported short-term rental operations in Australia, and Sofia was a long-term property and travel enthusiast from Stockholm. There was a problem. Business and holiday travelers alike could only find large, chain hotels that were dull, overly busy, and inauthentic. There was a huge opportunity too. The average private home in Sweden attracts twice the income when available on the short-term rental market when compared to long-term rental opportunities. So we asked: why are more people not putting their property on the short-term rental market? Then came the second and third problems. Most people in Sweden did not know about the significant financial returns of short-term rentals. Secondly, managing a short-term rental property is a lot of work. The solution: SwedBNB. We bring stylish, local, clean, well maintained, and authentically Swedish properties to travelers, and manage all the details on behalf of property owners. The benefit for owners is a significantly larger income (even after deducting our 16 percent fee), and the benefit for travelers is a much nicer travel experience. And it has worked. We have partners that are mum and dad property owners, some are people that travel a lot with work and their home is empty much of the time, and others are businesses with investment properties. We have hosted thousands of guests and established ourselves as superhosts on Airbnb and as a trusted and preferred partner with Booking.com and VRBO / Homeaway.
When starting SwedBNB, Sofia and Dominic wanted to ensure their successes were shared. Immediately, SwedBNB became a member of the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children. At the same time, SwedBNB committed to donating ten percent of all profits to international and local charities.
The team at SwedBNB feel deeply about our social responsibility to ensure our impact on the environment is a positive one. So we work with property owners, partners, and contractors to ensure all our properties have environmentally friendly appliances, recycling, and only use eco and environmentally sustainable products. We want our property owners and partners to make a great income without damaging the planet. And, we want our guests and travelers to have a great experience whilst staying with us, and to relax knowing their stay is not leading to a warmer or more toxic world.
